Greetings and good morning brothers and sisters. This is Dr. James Perry continuing with our series
where we seek to explore the deeper meanings of our relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the years,
the heavenly Father has revealed many revelations of spiritual truth to me, and I want to share them
with you. This morning we will ponder our lives as we seek to understand the meaning of the
supreme understanding.
And now, sit back and listen to today's message.
The Supreme Understanding
"What is man that thou are mindful of him, and what is the son of man that thou visits him,
for thou has made him just below the angels, and has crowned him with glory." Palms,
Chapter 8, Verse 4.
Brothers and sisters, as hard as it may be for some of us to believe, we are the sons and daughters
of God. Is it strange that the Father visits us and crowns us with his unspeakable glory? And we can
experience this daily by believing this truth with all of our hearts, minds and souls, and by loving our
neighbors as ourselves. When we do this forthwith, we realize that we are indeed sons and daughters
of the Heavenly Father, as the light of His loves emanates from us and shines on our brothers and
sisters.
And all of this is possible because the Father "visits" us, sends his Spirit and the Spirit of Truth to
dwell in our minds and souls. This gives us the ability to know, choose, and become like Him in the
process. Our flesh and blood cannot know the Father, it must return to the dust from which it
emerged. But our souls are the creations of the Father living in our minds. This is why we will live
on eternally if we choose to believe His Son.
The heavenly Father sends His spirit along with His Son's spirit, the Spirit of Truth, to dwell in our
minds and souls, to actualize this spiritual potential, thus making us sons and daughters of God. This
perception of spiritual reality imparts to us that we are more than just human beings. The Father
gives us faith to know him and to choose his will and to become like him in the process. And though
we are sons and daughters of God, we are still also sons and daughters of man. This dual nature of
being sons and daughters of man and of God at the same time creates quite a bit of confusion in our
minds at times, for sometimes we use this faith for purposes other than to do his will.
Though we are dust and must return to dust, our souls will live on if we submit our wills to the
Father's will. It is revealed: "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was and the spirit shall return
unto God who gave it." And also: "He shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet and they
shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
Brothers and sisters, the Father loves us with an infinite affection. Jesus said not one sparrow falls
to the ground without our Father's knowledge. "Fear ye not, therefore; ye are of more value than
many sparrows." Not only can nothing happen to us that the Father does not know about, but no
harm can befall our souls because of His might. Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice and I know
them, and they follow me: and I give them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any
man pluck them out of my hand. My Father who gave them to me is greater than all, and no man is
able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."
So brothers and sisters, when we submit our wills to the Father's will, not only do our souls enjoy
eternal life but we have absolute security. We can trust the Father absolutely. No matter the trials and
tribulations we experience in this life, there is nothing that can pry us loose from the Father's all-
powerful grasp. And even more, he will wipe every tear from our eyes and fill our souls with
unspeakable joy.
The Father has a grand plan for us--a plan that requires us to live this life. This plan is so grand and
magnificent that to be successful we need a faith that is doubt-free. Through the process of learning
to deal with our challenges in a spiritually sound way, we develop the kind of faith we need. We are
being trained for some great and glorious purpose that the Father has for us. If we trust him and do
His will as revealed in his Son, Jesus, we will live to see that plan unfold in eternity.
This concludes today's message on understanding the meaning of the supreme understanding. We
hope you find something in this message to ponder and pray about as you go about your day. Until
next time, this is Dr. James Perry.
