Greetings and good morning brothers and sisters This is Dr. James Perry continuing with our series where we seek to explore the deeper meanings of our relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the years, the heavenly Father has revealed many revelations of spiritual truth to me, and I want to share them with you. This morning we will ponder our lives as we seek to understand the crucial spiritual insight.
And now, sit back and listen to today's message.
The Crucial Spiritual Insight
“And ye shall seek me, and shall find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found by you.” “Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God.” Jeremiah, Chapter 29, Verses 13 and 14 and First John, Chapter 3, Verse 1.
Brothers and sisters, in today’s broadcast we shall identify and examine the crucial spiritual insight, and shall see if we can extract the assurance that we have indeed identified it and integrated it into our souls. The insight that we wish to identify is the insight that signals to us that we have indeed surrendered to the spirit, that the spirit has indeed won the spiritual victory in our lives, and that we have also won in that we are no longer a transient reality in the universe but have become living sons and daughters of the Father for all eternity.
“The word "insight" means to come to understand. In this case it means to understand spiritual meanings/values. However, having said that I think the crucial insight is the ability to recognize and accept spiritual reality and to embrace all that it entails including being translated. It is wholeheartedly believing that God is love and that we are an integral part of His love and having the desire to allow that divine love to pass through us as we daily interact with everyone we come into contact with. It is allowing faith and divine trust in the Father's mandate to dominate our decision making processes daily. Finally, it is allowing all our spiritual thoughts to be directed toward the Father’s spirit for the purpose of elevation and spiritualization and quietly listening with the spirit of discernment, and patience.
Now it is important to remember that this insight in and of it self is given to us by the Heavenly Father, and it is our faith that has actualized it, made it real. This insight being spiritual does not alter the material aspects of our lives. We are still subject to the material laws governing the material aspect of ourselves, and it is this total domination of ourselves by the material laws that prevented us from grasping this insight. The material aspect of us is real as shown by our response and necessity to respond to that fact in some manner. We can not ignore our material natures. The pain and suffering associated with it will not allow us to even if we wanted to.
But our lasting hopes and dreams, our longings and desires, constitute an echo of our spiritual potential for these are not a part of our material nature but our spiritual nature. Someway we must find a way to separate the material aspect of our lives from the spiritual aspects, so that we can consciously enjoy the spiritual existence even in the midst of the material life. We must somehow grasp the reality that the material nature though separate is the mechanism through which the divine values and meanings are revealed to our souls, that is as we experience the interactions with the problems of the material life, we gain the spiritual values and meanings that are concealed within these problems. We must yield to the material even while we strive to obtain a higher level of existence, a spiritual level of existence. And we do this by making the pursuit of spiritual values and meanings the supreme goal of our lives, that is by submitting to the Father’s will.
By grasping this insight by faith, that is wholeheartedly believing it, we immediately began to display the divine character to our brothers and sisters thus validating our grasp of our divine heritage. It is a fact that the none spiritualized mind and soul does not display the divine character. No matter how hard it tries, it always fails without the faith acceptance of divine sonship. Consider these truths of faith:
“We are sons of spiritual promise, faith sons. We have accepted our status of sonship. We believe in the reality of our sonship, and thus does our sonship with God becomes eternally real.”
“Jesus the Son of God became one of us. He our elder brother in fact; and if in spirit we become truly related brothers of Christ, then in spirit must we also be sons of the Father which we have in common.”
“We are sons of God the spirit of a the Spirit of Truth, the spirit of Jesus has been poured out upon us. This spirit ever draws us towards the divine Son, who is its source, and toward the Paradise Father, who is the source of that divine Son.”
“We are sons because the Father has given us personalities. We have been endowed with a measure of that divine spontaneity of free will action which the Father shares with all who may become his sons.”
“We are sons because the Father’s spirit lives within us, and thus we are directly related to the divine Father of all the Sons of God.”
Now the process of assurance or the knowing that we have this spiritual insight has three components. First, we see that our decisions making processes we engage in are definitely different from past decision making processes. Whereas before our decision making processes were based upon purely selfish considerations, our decision making processes are now based on doing those things that are divinely helpful to our brothers and sisters, those things that are reflective of our dedication and consecrations to doing the Father’s will.
Secondly as a consequence of the change in our decision making processes, we find ourselves making unselfish decisions. Our decisions are now based upon relating ourselves to our brother and sisters so " . . . that they will receive the highest possible good as a result of our contact with them.” This is the essence of true religion: that you love your neighbor as yourself. We discover we are more patient with others, more divinely understanding, more helpful and we find ourselves wanting to be of service to others more.” And even though we still tread the paths of mortality, our souls walk the golden path of eternal love. We have identified with the eternal and have no need to surrender to the doubting of impatience. This capturing of the crucial spiritual insight signifies that we love God with all our hearts, minds, and spirits, and that we love our neighbor as ourselves.
Thirdly, when we finally recognize that insight that we are now different, we become aware of a new level of spiritual growth. This new level of spiritual awareness is signaled by our grasp of new divine values manifesting the enhanced spiritual meanings. In other words what we have so diligently prayed for and desired has been finally realized.” We have finally chosen the Father’s will and we have finally realized that this is the finding of the spiritual Father.
After securing this insight the Father’s spirit through His Son, Jesus can work with us more effectively in their efforts to assist us in becoming all that we can be-to be perfect even as the heavenly Father is perfect.” And when all is said and done it was and is faith that made the capturing of this insight possible. Yes, living Faith helps us to make this transition. Now this capturing of the crucial spiritual insight-the realization that submitting to the Father’s will is the finding of the spirit Father-is what allows us to boldly live our proclamation that we and the Father are one. So sure are we that we are one with the Father through His Son, Jesus that we delight in revealing his character to our brothers and sisters. We delight in revealing his mercy to our brothers and sisters and when necessary freely give forgiveness. We have the spiritual power now, and we dare not allow the material manifestations of hate, impatience, revenge and doubt to cast an evil shadow upon our brilliant light of divine love.
This concludes today's message on the discovery and meaning of the crucial spiritual insight. We hope you find something in this message to ponder and pray about as you go about your day.
Until next time, this is Dr. James Perry.
