Greetings and good morning brothers and sisters. This is Dr. James Perry continuing with our series
where we seek to explore the deeper meanings of our relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the years,
the heavenly Father has revealed many revelations of spiritual truth to me, and I want to share them
with you. This morning we will ponder our lives as we seek to understand the meaning of the bravery
of the Father's love.
And now, sit back and listen to today's message.
The Bravery of Love
" In the world, ye shall have tribulation: But be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
John, Chapter 16, Verse 33.
While we live in the world we struggle against pain, sorrow, and disappointments. Only the Father
can inspire us to defy the natural inclination to flee or fight by instilling in us the bravery of love.
Only the Father's love can respond to the smile of hate with self-forgetting acts of restraint. Only the
Father's love can respond with kind words of affection to cruel words that proceed out of some of
our mouths. Only the Father's love can respond with forgiveness to the acts of revenge. When the
seeds of destruction that are inherent to cowardly acts have become ruinous, only the Father's love
can illustrate the mercy of salvation.
When the flood waters of adversity threaten to overwhelm us, only the Father's love can sustain us
on the mountaintop of inner peace. When our material lives reveal to our material eyes only the
desolate ruins of broken dreams, only the Father's love can reveal to us the indestructible dreams of
the spiritual world to our spiritual eyes. Only the hope of the Father's love can counter the dead
weight of the sometimes ruthless reality of material existence.
And when the deadlock of conflicting moral obligations paralyzes our moral wills, only the Spirit
of Truth can lead us out of moral bondage into the spiritual freedom of realizing that we are faith
sons and daughters of the Father. Only the Spirit of Truth can cut through the jungle of conflicting
moral doctrine. Only the Spirit of Truth forever stands at the crossroads of confusion, ever saying
to us, "This is the way." And when the sophistication of over much logic dares to challenge the
reality of our spiritual experience with the heavenly Father, the Spirit of Truth rears its beautiful head
of divine reality, convicting us with the logic of faith--spiritual insight.
When we view the barren landscape of evil and sin, the beauty of the Father's love reveals the
spiritual unity of all things, meanings, and values. When we view the disjointed experiences of life,
the beauty of the Father's love reveals our oneness with Him through the Spirit of Truth. As we
ponder the losses of life, the beauty of the Father's love reveals to us that absolutely nothing of true
value is ever lost.
Finally when we are faced with the piranhas of selfishness, the goodness of the Father's love
validates our unselfishness. When we are faced with ingratitude and greed, the goodness of the
Father's love reveals thanksgiving and gratitude, even the spirit of worship, which is the greatest
pleasure known to our souls. This is the bravery of love.
This concludes today's message on understanding the meaning of the bravery of the Father's Love.
We hope you find something in this message to ponder and pray about as you go about your day.
Until next time, this is Dr. James Perry.
