Greetings and good morning, brothers and sisters. This is Dr. James Perry continuing with our series where
we seek to explore the deeper meanings of our relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the years, the heavenly
Father has revealed many revelations of spiritual truth to me, and I want to share them with you. This
morning we will ponder our lives as we seek to take another look at the Father's will.
And now, sit back and listen to today's message.
Another Look at the Father's Will
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man cometh unto the Father, but by
me." John 12, Chapter, Verse 6.
A traveler starts out on a long trip. For quite some time now, he has been living in a foreign land. This land
has many attractions, has brought many joys and moments of pleasure. There have also been some bad
times as well, for he has suffered dearly. Many times has he swallowed the bitter pill of disappointment and
submitted to the painful injection of sorrow.
For quite some time now, he thought he was a citizen of this now strange land. He gave all that he had to
this strange government. He obeyed all their laws, and found that the more he gave, the more he lost. Yes,
what a strange land now, and at one time it had all seemed so familiar, with its emphasis on selfish
achievements and pursuing material things, meanings, and values.
And now he is sick in his heart as he reflects back over his sojourn in this strange land. Images of disillusion
flood through his mind as he ponders the meaning of his experiences: "I have sought many things,
meanings, and values. Some I got. Others I failed to get. But I put all that I had in this pursuit of selfish
material reality, but rather than being satisfied with accomplishments, they were like the failures--full of
heartbreak and sorrow, utter dissatisfaction.”
And now in his despair, he wonders how he got here. He knows that he was born of woman, but that does
not explain the turmoil raging in his soul. If this now strange land is truly home, then why all the turmoil
raging in his soul? As he searches his memory, he cannot discover why he was born into this pitiful state
and where if any place he is going beyond the grave. Surely there must be more meaning to my life than
this unfulfilling life of material meanings and values.
But just now, his heart is exited as he ponders the meaning of the message that he so recently received in
the very midst of his despair: "Come home my son, for I have searched the universe for you. I have
searched every nook and cranny. I have looked in all the secret places, even into your heart. And I am glad
and happy that I have found you at last. I sent many messages and messengers trying to find you, but they
all returned empty handed, saying that there was no one there by that name." It has only been recently since
my Son, Jesus' Spirit of Truth, finally located you.”
"But rejoice with me my son so that my joy may be complete, for whereas you were lost, now you are
found. I know you have a lot of questions to ask me, and that there is much that you do not understand. But
I do want you to know that I have never ceased loving you, and that I am very proud of you for going on this
very dangerous mission that I sent you on. I know that I did not give you very much pre-knowledge of what
you were to experience. I did not even give you knowledge of who you were until recently, and that you have
had to trust me, even though you did not remember me."
"My son, I know it is hard, but please try to understand that the very success of your mission depended upon
your ignorance of unfolding events. To have known them would have meant certain failure for you. And I
know how you have suffered, and how alone you have felt. But my son, I have never left you alone. I have
always been with you ever since you were conscious of yourself. My three-fold spirit has been with you all
the time, waiting in love, patience, mercy, and forgiveness for your temporary darkness to lift. I have
gradually and gently stripped the layers of darkness from your mind and your soul. I did not do this too
swiftly because I did not want to blind you, for a bright light can be blinding to someone who has dwelt in
darkness."
"Now my son, all of this is soon to come to an end, as your enforced amnesia is lifted. There is a great
distance in space and duration in time that must be traversed before you can arrive safely back home. But
the spirit of my Son Jesus, the Spirit of Truth, will show you the way. This Spirit of Truth knows every step
of the way and has never failed.
In fact, this Spirit of Truth cannot fail for he is the perfect guide. He has brought your ticket so that you may
board the plane of faith while you embark on the journey of truth. The food of goodness will feed you during
the long journey, while the lure of beauty will give you endless pleasure. The ticket is "be you perfect, even
as your Father in heaven is perfect."
This concludes today's message on understanding another take on the Father’s will. We hope you find
